One of the main themes of our conversation today is that who we are is largely determined genetically at conception. This point of view starts us on the road to genetic predeterminism. I am not entirely convinced that our genetics are the most important part of who we are. My Uncle’s initial statement on the previous post does acknowledge the influence of our environment on our development however, our conversation today emphasized the importance of the genetic basis of who we are. We are interested in other perspectives on this so post a reply if you are thinking about genetics, human nature and what makes us who we are.
